All incoming freshman at Soka University in Aliso Viejo, California take part in the Avant STAMP 4S assessment. Avant STAMP 4S results are used as part of the students’ initial placement into their language program to ensure learner success in their language courses. Those students interested in the university’s study abroad program are required to test using Avant STAMP 4S both before and after their study abroad program. Before leaving for study abroad, a student’s Avant STAMP 4S scores are used to make informed choices about what language classes to enroll in during their time abroad.
