Échelle de référence STAMP
Les candidats reçoivent un niveau de référence (score numérique) pour chaque section du test. Les Niveaux de Référence sont regroupés par niveaux principaux (Novice, Intermédiaire et Avancé). Au sein de chaque niveau principal, il y a trois sous-niveaux (bas, moyen, haut) qui sont alignés sur les Directives de Compétence ACTFL.
Niveaux de référence (Scores)
En termes de développement, les candidats de différents âges ont une approche différente à la fois des sujets/contenus et des contextes. Par conséquent, nous avons créé nos évaluations en gardant à l'esprit deux groupes de développement :
- 6ème et en dessous
- De la 7e année à l'âge adulte
La notation et l'évaluation de toutes les évaluations STAMP sont effectuées en utilisant des niveaux de référence. Les candidats peuvent atteindre les niveaux de référence suivants :

Écriture, Parole, Sections Expressives
Rubriques
Les réponses écrites, orales et expressives sont évaluées par les évaluateurs certifiés Avant en utilisant TIMBRE 2 et STAMP pour les rubriques ASL. Les rubriques détaillent en détail les attentes placées sur les candidats pour la performance à tout niveau donné. Les candidats qui espèrent atteindre un niveau spécifique devraient connaître les caractéristiques du travail qu'ils doivent produire pour répondre aux exigences de ce niveau de compétence.
Processus de notation
La notation se fait à l'aide de la grille d'évaluation STAMP et du processus de notation en trois étapes suivant :
ÉTAPE 1 - Évaluation globale de la réponse pour évaluer sa mesurabilité
Les évaluateurs d'Avant déterminent d'abord si la réponse est pertinente et appropriée pour la consigne donnée. Si la réponse est hors sujet, contient des grossièretés, inclut un langage menaçant ou intimidant, montre des preuves de violation de l'accord de test, ou si elle contient une langue non cible, la réponse sera considérée comme non réactive et recevra un score de zéro. Si le candidat a rencontré des problèmes techniques, y compris l'utilisation d'un clavier spécial ou d'un système d'entrée pour les langues à base de caractères, il recevra un score "NR" pour cette réponse. ÉTAPE 2 - Évaluation de chaque réponse évaluable.
Les évaluateurs Avant évaluent chaque réponse évaluable pour déterminer un niveau de référence basé sur les caractéristiques du type de texte (du niveau débutant faible à avancé intermédiaire), ainsi qu'une indication des caractéristiques de contrôle de la langue (précision/compréhensibilité) avec un score possible de Haut, Moyen, ou Bas.
ÉTAPE 3 - Publication des scores pour chaque réponse.
Le système rapportera ensuite les notes pour chacune des trois réponses, qui sont utilisées pour calculer le score final de la compétence.
Note: 20% of all test taker responses are rated by a second rater to assist in tracking rater accuracy and reliability.
The same rubric is used for all Speaking and Writing responses. Individual responses are moved into the Avant Rating system once all three prompts have been submitted by the test taker. The target turnaround time is based on the date of the last completed response. There is an expected turnaround time of 7-10 days for most languages with a 10–12 day turnaround for less commonly tested languages.

Scoring Process
The Reading, Listening, and Receptive section scores are generated by the computer.
Each question has an associated benchmark level. Test takers experience questions at various levels because the reading, listening, and receptive sections are computer-adaptive. The algorithm used to determine the test taker’s scores for these sections looks at the number of questions that were answered correctly at each benchmark level.

Please note that the topic is not the only criteria for determining the STAMP test question level. A Novice level test taker may know learned phrases and basic vocabulary about topics that may appear within Intermediate or Advanced levels.
Also, test questions may have elements of multiple topics. For example, a Novice level question about Calendar/Time might reference Holidays/Celebrations. The topics may be used as a guide for instruction but are not a complete scope and sequence.
